Reeds & identification of them
« on: March 18, 2017, 07:48:31 AM »
I've been studying different types of reeds lately, for instance in my Manfrini I have h/m Binci and my Sharino h/m artigiana.
I know Swedish h/m blue steel reeds was used in early Shand Morino's , Paolo Soprani ( Tipo a Mano ) gaelics ( Swedish steel )
The Guerrini Gala has Cagnoni reeds I believe.
Identifying hand made reeds is usually done by identifying the domed rivit and Blue tinge of the finer cut metal strip.
Has anyone got any more thoughts on this?
I find hand made reeds gives a warmer , possibly more even responsive sound so since the last few years I only use hand made 🙂

I just found out today that the Sharino artigiana reeds are made of Swedish steel ribbon , similar to the Shand Morino ( Blue Swedish Steel )
I didn't know that before 🎼🙂
