Playing the Stradella bass
« on: November 18, 2019, 07:44:38 PM »
How's your left hand bass playing? I know some players come to the 3-row button box from smaller accordions with limited basses – 8 or 12, for example – and may find the Stradella bass, with up to 120 buttons, a bit daunting.

An accordion player and teacher who lives near me, Guy Wiley, has recently published a book which promises to be a big help in learning the Stradella bass. Called “The Accordion Bass”, Guy's book provides a sequence of explanations and excercises from basics to more advanced bass playing. It could also benefit more experienced players whose bass playing hasn’t ventured much beyond the basics.
The pics show the covers and table of contents.

Guy sells his book on eBay and it looks to be a good investment at £14.99.
