Dots or ABC
« on: April 28, 2021, 10:34:48 AM »

A friend has asked for the Dots or ABC for the tune 'Suas leis a' Ghaidhlig', which I do not have.

I would appreciate if someone could provide them. Thanks.

Should be attached as an image of the dots, hopefully:

X:0
T:Suas leis a' Ghaidhlig!
C:H. Whyte
C:(Fionn)
M:6/8
L:1/8
K:F
P:Seist
F>CC F>CC | F>AG F2 C | D>ED F>GA | c>BA G2 F |
c>de f>ed | c>AF F2 G | A>GA c>dc | c>BA G2 F |
P:Rann
C | C>DE F>GA | c>dc A2 A | c>dc c>AF | A>GG G2 A/B/|
c>dc c>AF | F>GA B2 A/B/ | c>dc c>AF | G>FF F2 |]

It is usually song with lots of rubato and pauses and other fancy words - there should be plenty videos of choirs on Youtube demonstrating it if necessary.

I know the ABC doesn't quite add up; when sung there's a big ol' pause between verse and chorus, and I thought better to leave as per the original than messing around with it.

Just realised dots in G might be more helpful!

Thank you very much, Calum. I'll pass them on. He wanted it to sing along while playing the box.

Nae bother!  He might be better putting it down to D or C to sing with, unless he's comfortable up in that tenor range.

He usually sings along playing an A/D box.
