Jimmy Shand - Orcadian Waltz / Balintore Fisherman Polka
« on: June 05, 2019, 09:15:27 PM »
Jimmy Shand and his band recorded Orcadian Waltz (The Rope Waltz, The Stronsay Waltz) and Balintore Fisherman Polka on Parlophone R.4218 (78rpm). Does anyone know if this particular recording has been re-released on CD? Very many Jimmy Shand recordings have been re-released on CD compilations, and I have quite a few of them, but none that I have has these tracks. It’s the Orcadian Waltz I'd particularly like to hear.
Alternatively, does anyone have this particular recording and the equipment/know-how to make a recording I could listen to?

(Can’t find it on iTunes, Spotify or Deezer).

Thanks to Daniel McPhee I've now been able to hear the original record, in surprisingly good quality. Particularly the Rope Waltz, as it should be played.
